Hi all.
I urgently need some advice regarding exam 70-305. I’m a MCP in VB.NET and VB6. I passed the VB.NET exam 70-306 two years ago and was hoping to continue towards becoming a MCAD. The problem was I wasn’t getting many interviews due to a lack of experience. I eventually got a job in telecoms and my studies came to a halt. Unfortunately, I’ve just been laid off by my employer (another credit crunch victim) and now find myself unsure of what I should do next career wise.
What I’d like to know is, Is it worth starting to study again to get that MCAD certification or is it a little out of date. The exams I would have to pass are for Web applications(Exam 70-305) and Web services (70-310) which are to to be retired on March 31st 2009. If I pass the exams and get the MCAD is it possible that my job prospects will improve or will the lack of real world programming experience remain a problem? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

ok I was just wanting advice on which military branch may be best for me, I have decided I would like to join just not sure on what job could fit me… I am cautious to see the recruiter because I want advice from another source first. also I recently told my mom who is now sad and says i’m not serious(one of her friends died in iraq), how should I bring this up again and tell her that I’m serious about this? I would also like to know some good pros and cons for each branch so I can narrow it down…
a few facts about me are that–
-I want to make my parents proud
- i would like to serve my country
-I want the best start to a military career that I can get
-I’m in highschool
-I do crew(rowing); but am fairly light because of metabolism and built for distance running
-sorry but don’t wish to go coast guard

I am year 11 in the UK (final year of high school)
I have not chosen a further education coruse or B tech or A levels or anything yet.
My predicted GCSE results are:
History: A/B
R.M.E (Religous studies): A
Maths: B
Stats: B
physics: B
Chem: B
Biology: B
English lit: B
England lang: B
I.T A/B
Cookery: don’t even ask :$
Anyway, can I have some advice please?
I’ve heard being an Actuary is brilliant, but could I do it if I can only get a B in maths and stats at GCSE level? Would it be super hard work if that’s what I can get?
I really love ancient history, but I’m not sure if it’s just a hobby or a career, you know?
and I.T is safe as I’m very good at that and my brother does it at University, and my dad works in I.T
Advice please.

Right, so i’ve started trying to decide what i would like to do as a career. And at the moment i’m really interested in the media industry. Some of the jobs i’m considering would be: Journalist, Producer or maybe something in advertising/public relations…. So I was wondering if you guys could give me advice on what career would be best suited to me, what i would need to achieve it, (like what degree to take), ideas on how i could achieve this goal, and also what it may pay….
I should probably tell you my predicted grades in the subjects i take:
Maths – A
English – A
Science double – A
Media studies – A/A*
Art – Distinction – equivilant of A/A*
History – A/A*
ICT (computers) double – Distinction (A/A*)
So what do you guys think?

I graduate high school in June and I still haven’t decided where I’m going to college or for what. Quite honestly, I don’t want to go to college but I realize I have to get some kind of education beyond high school. It has basically come down to two choices: beauty school or diagnostic medical sonography (ultrasound technician). Both would take about 2 years.
Ever since I was young I wanted to be a hairdresser and I was going to go to Beattie through my school but then decided I want to take a language and go to 4-year college (oh my, that has changed). Although, I think I would really enjoy diagnostic med. sonography (specifically ob/gyn).
I love working with people, I’m creative, and outgoing. And I’m not asking for you to choose my career path for me, but rather give some advice on which direction would be a better one and even personal experience with either career would be great.
Something I’m really worried about is how much money I’ll be making. I’ve heard that hairdressers don’t make much in pittsburgh, pa. So I’m also considering that.
Thanks in advance!

have always maintained excellent grades. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2006. Since then, I took the LSAT 3 times and didn’t receive the score I know I can achieve and didn’t get into where I applied. I took prep courses. Now, I have a career at a well-known law firm in Chicago. My goal is to go to law school and become an entertainment lawyer. The thing is, once you take the LSAT three times you have to wait another 5 years before retaking it. By that time, I want my career established and I don’t want to be in my 30′s in school. I am now 23 and ready for a career. So my law school options seem to not exist anymore.
Now, what other career should I pursue? I was thinking of getting my Paralegal Certificate and then applying to business school. I also want a Masters, but in what? I am so confused and not used to not getting through with flying colors. I want to go to school while I am still young.
All advice is appreciated.

i do not know which major to chose, please help
I need your help please.
I’m soo lost on what to study in university and I’m already in university. Where I live, there isn’t that whole “take classes and see which ones you like most”. So i need your help to make a choice.
Right now, i study Architecture. Like the idea of making cool buildings but hate the long hours of doing the same thing for so long alone in the room and the extreme detailing.
I know deep down in my gut, I’m so in love with sustainability, the whole going green movement I LOVE.
That’s why at first I considered Environmental engineering. But after researching more about it, it seemed it’s very limiting. Only dealing with waste water and water treatment? Some gaseous outlets. I’m still unclear on what they do. I’m not sure I’ll find it intresting.
What do you guys think I should do?
If it helps, I’m an ENTP or an ENFP >> not sure.
I’m veryy social, outgoing and cannot live in a routine or detail oriented job. When getting a job, meeting new people and being physically active is one of my preferences. I’m in love with math and all Sciences.
I’m very healthy, took a sports and health class once and really liked it. Considered studying Nutrition but wasn’t fond of the plain memorizing included- not good at memorizing.
Considered Urban Planning, but where I live, it’s can only be taken as a masters degree. But does it fit me?
Please don’t give me that speech of doing what you love. I wish I knew what it was! I mean I know what it is. Its about going green and making Earth a better place. But how? Throught doing what? Every career has sustainability related to it.
Please advice me as soon as possible. Add me if you think you need more information (:

I offered my friend a tutoring job at the Learning Center , since she does not have a job. She complains she is too busy.
My friend does not want to tutor, because she said she would get “frustrated”, yet she wants to be a high school teacher. Should I tell her it is time for a career change?
If you get frustrated tutoring one kid, Imagine teaching 25 or 30!!!
She’s also studying Chemistry, thats what she wants to teach, but she does not seem to enjoy it. What can I tell her?
She tells me Chemistry is really hard, and its boring!!
She tells me that she doesnt want to teach because she will get frustrated.
My response; dont be a teacher! (Note: I did not actually say that, but she plans to continue to be a high school teacher)
Gosh, I feel bad for those kids. A great teacher is passionate about the subject he/she teaches.
My theory is that she was brainwashed by her parents wanted and did not do want she wanted. Or that she had a very influential high school Chemistry teacher.
I think she should do something she is passionate about, but I dont know what that is. It seems like she is in the wrong place to me.
Remember, an unpassionate teacher, produces uninspiried students
I want to tell her the story, that I changed my major from Chemistry to Political Science, because I found I had some great professors in my general education classes.
HOW CAN I TELL HER SHE SHOULDNT BE A TEACHER AND DO SOMETHING SHE IS PASSIONATE ABOUT WITHOUT HURTING HER FEELINGS?
Please do not tell me, let her figure it out on her own. Friends do not let other friends suffer. Please give me realistic advice I can tell her thank you. Teachers should be passionate about what they do. I am tired of having these teachers that hate what they do. We need to toughen certification standards.

Hi! So I’m having trouble deciding what degree I want to major in. I’ve planned that after high school I’ll go into the US Coast Guard Academy and I’ve narrowed my choices down between:
1) mechanical engineering
2) electrical engineering
3) operations research
and 4) government
I’m an athletic (14-year old) sophomore in high school and I excel in math and, well actually, I’m a straight-A student. But up to this academic year I’ve succeeded in Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calc and AP Statistics. Next year I’ll take AP Calculus and AP Physics and my Senior year my high school doesn’t even have math courses for me to take (lol). However I want to pursue my desire to serve in the military (I was previously thinking about Air Force) but I still have no idea what to major in while in the USCGA.
[I was thinking about becoming a police officer in the NYPD after the military and in the Coast Guard I want to fly fixed-wings or helicopters. I also take interest in politics so I wonder if I should start a career in politics instead after the military.]
Please give my any advice you can, because I’m really lost as to what I should major in. Tell me what you think of these majors, or if you’ve majored in one any tips you have. Any tips to acceptance into USCGA?
Thanks so much for any help!

I just finished my first semester of university, I am currently taking a B.Sc and my original intent was to go to medical school. However my grades are not good at all. i passed 2 of 4 classes, failed one with 49% and I don’t know if i want to continue. its a lot of money and i have 0 idea what i want to do with it and because of that i lost all motivation. Im considering dropping out, changing programs, changing to a college. I have no idea what i want. I did really well in high school with an 86% average in grade 12.
Anyways I am completely lost and I am looking for some advice and also some career options i should check out.
thanks
